RADical Ducati – Cafe Veloce
in CustomBike
This older build comes from the guys we all know so well, the guys behind RADical Ducati from Madrid, Spain. If you’re not familiar with their work yet be sure to check out the Pursang, RAD to Hell and Vendetta R. The Cafe Veloce started its life as a stock Ducati GT 1000. This GT 1000 was taken apart and rebuilt the RADical way; the engine was disassembled, adjusted, balanced and blue printed. The wet clutch was converted to a dry clutch with the help of an EVR slipper clutch. To give the engine faster revs and faster throttle response, RADical Ducati also installed a lightened alloy flywheel. The frame was modified at the rear end by 5 cm to allow fitment of the new Desmo challenge solo seat. The side panels were also removed to give the bike that retro minimalist look that we all adore on the cafe racers.
The original gas tank was modified at the rear to accept the solo seat and the quick open Ergal gas cap. The two passengers bench seat has been replaced with a modified Desmo challenge Sport Classic solo seat and for suspension they decided to go with a S2R 1000 adjustable front forks and Ohlins rear shocks. At the front the stock triple clamps were modified, the headlight was replaced with a smaller unit and Tomaselli adjustable clipons with Domino throttle controls were installed.
At the rear we can see a 1970′s Montesa rear light with LED blinkers and a custom licence and light support bracket. The exhaust headers are a 2-1 stainless steel from Wolfman that have been wrapped and the muffler is a RAD megaphone. The rear sets are RAD’s own adjustable kits. Stopping power comes via Discacciati rotors, calipers, master cylinders and Fentubo hand-made steel braided hoses. To keep in tone with retro swag of the build, RADical Ducati chose a set of Alpina spokes tubeless rims. All of the parts that were painted were also sandblasted before paint to be sure that the coating covered the parts in a perfect way. Check out the gallery for the rest of the pics of this beautiful build.
